Vintage shipped a defective product; 7 months and still no refund 12/07/2009 - 22:38
Review:
We purchased the 60 Inch Classic Roll Rim Clawfoot Bathtub by Randolph Morris from Vintage Tub & Bath in May of 09. Although the tub was advertised as new, after we had it proefessionally installed and used it exactly twice, the enamel began wearing away from the bottom, which in our experience happens with refinished tubs. (We did in fact refinish an old clawfoot during the restoration of our house and found the surface wore away quickly. We bought the "new" tub from Vintage to replace it.) When we reported the problem to Vintage, they were very apologetic and offered -- no, urged us -- to let them replace the tub. However, after an expert inspected the tub, he advised us to get a refund. He documented his findings for Vintage. First Vintage promised we could have a refund. Then, they said they couldn't find someone to repack the tub and ship it back to them, a requirement before the refund could be processed. Now Vintage is stonewalling our e-mails and calls. It's December, 7 months since our order. The holidays are approaching, and we're out one bathroom and over a thousand dollars. We're forced to resort to the Better Business Bureau and posts like this. The low prices of Vintage come at great cost. Be forewarned.
